Google permits alternative billing system, but developers cry foul; Uber looks to partner with private taxi operators

Complying with the directives of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), Google is bringing about a change in its ‘Google Play payment policy’. The change permits an alternative billing system for users making in-app purchases on mobile phones and tablets, alongside Google Play's billing system.
