Earlier this month, Altman reportedly declared an internal "code red" to accelerate improvements to ChatGPT to retain its competitive edge. In an internal memo, Altman accepted that Google’s recent successes in AI could “create some temporary economic headwinds for our company”. Altman assured colleagues that OpenAI is “catching up fast”, and would emerge on top in the AI race.
